AP and Garmin 695

My AP (D180+AP74) is slaved to a Garmin 695 GPS. When switching on the AP to NAV or HDG the plain makes long turns left and right until it finally stabilizes on track. Any ideas?

Have you looked at the angle of bank limits or turn rate limits you have set.

Latest software 5.3, set turn rate to 0, and Angle of bank to say 25 degrees. Play with it from there.
