I would like to have an AP disconnect switch on my stick. But, I can't find anything in the literature on how to wire it. Can I just wire it between +12v power and the AP? I'm using a circuit breaker and can always pull the breaker to remove power, but would prefer a button on the stick. It's an RV 14A. if that matters with HDX and AP Panel.

It is a single contact (push to make contact) switch grounding the control line to the servo's (with an additional 5k resistor over the switch to the Dynon system can detect a broken wire failure). Look in the installation manual and the users manual for the term disconnect or disconnect button, there is a lot of description. The disconnect button directly interfaces with the servo's of the autopilot and it immediately disengages them (it doesn't just remove the power that is a very crude way of controlling the servo's). It provides a direct deactivation of the autopilot function and if installed in the stick it is much quicker to use, when the autopilot does something that the pilot doesn't like. The button actually does more as it also activates the autopilot function, for a description of the complete functionality and the interaction with the autopilot function read the users manual. (sorry).

I have both a quick disconnect switch (just like addressed in the Manual), very easy to do especially if you already have an unused button on the stick. I also have a fused toggle switch on my panel that will shut off the power to the servos for those times I don't want them on.

Dynon Tech Support did their magic. Yellow wires from servos thru switch to ground does it.
Also, thanks to those above for directing me to proper manual section.

One other item of which to be aware: A very popular stick grip these days is the Infinity grip. They have several button positions on the grip and the button in each position can be specified to be either momentary on (turn off as soon as button is released) or flip-flop (switch from off to on, then on to off, with each successive press and release). It would not surprise me if other brands were similar. Just be mindful of what you are working with.

For the autopilot disconnect (and the hold-to-engage function as well) you need a button that is the momentary on type.
