On startup, with skyview, I frequently get a 429 fail message, requiring me to restart skyview once or several times before I can eliminate the fail notice. When receiving the fail message, the pink HSI needle does not appear or work. On a flight, once I have gotten them talking to each other, it never fails. It is a start up problem. My GPS is a Garmin GTN750
Any one else have a similiar problem?

That's probably a module with a hardware problem. But, you can try a couple of things if you'd like before sending it in.

First, if you can see the SV-ARINC-429's LED light when the module is in this state, and it's solid, then it's definitely hardware. If it's flashing slowly, it's operating, but not communicating with SkyView for some reason. This may or may not be a hardware issue.

Second, if you don't get the solid light in the above test, or aren't able to see the light easily, try disconnecting your SkyView Network connectors from your display(s), and then do a network configuration on each display. Then plug everything back in and try reconfiguring the network.

There's a pretty good chance it's the hardware itself though, so give our support team a call at 425-402-0433 when you've done the amount of troubleshooting that you're able to.

After a discussion with tech support, they have sent me a new unit, and I have returned the old one.
GREAT product support. Again. :D
