Hi,

(Question highlighted following background info.)

I'm using a D100 as a backup for my primary EFIS. (I originally planned to use three round gauges, then decided to use a D6 and as things happen, it "grew" to be a D100/HS34.) I would like to take advantage of the CDI capability of the D100 to display CDI / glideslope info. I'm planning to send the ARINC data from the GNS430W to both the primary EFIS and the D100. I'm also planning to include a switch to select which EFIS send the ARINC to GNS430W (for OBS settings to the 430W).

My primary EFIS needs ARINC IN to be HONEYWELL EFIS.

The document at http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/Garmin_430/530_Wiring shows the D100 needs EFIS / AIRDATA. Will the D100 work with ARINC IN set to HONEYWELL EFIS?

(Note: Referring to the Garmin 400 and 500 series as X30 in the document I referenced seems incorrectly limiting. The implication of X30 is 430, 430W, 530, and 530W which does not include the 400, 400W, 420, 420W, 500 or 500W. I expect that 99+% of the installations are X30.)

Roy

Note that you can only have one device send data to the 430 at once. So if that's your Honeywell EFIS, with the 430's IN set to HONEYWELL EFIS, there's no way to also connect the HS34 to send information to it simultaneously. That's OK, because technically speaking, the HS34 can do almost everything with just a receive-only feed from the 430. The things you'd be missing would be the ability to set the OBS hold in GPS mode by spinning the course knob (but your Honeywell presumably can send these commands), and then the few bits of data that the 430 can receive (see http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/Generic_ARINC-429_Wiring for the list of labels) won't be coming from the HS34. Again, presumably your other EFIS will send them. Note that the HS34 does not need to send course information to the 430 for the CRS knob to correctly work when in NAV radio mode.
