ATC Frequencies

Forgive the question if there is a simple answer, but I've read through the user guide looking for this, and I scanned the forum here.

Does Skyview include the frequencies for the controlling facility for a given airspace outside of airport airspace? I usually use VFR flight following, and I haven't been able to find center or approach frequencies in Skyview. It's such a comprehensive system that I'm sure it's there somewhere.

Thanks,

There's no discrete list of coms for airspaces, but, some airports (typically bigger / controlled ones) have a listing of approach, departure, and fss freqs under the COMMS tab under the airport info page. To find them while flying, hit NRST, then find a bigger airport, then hit INFO, then tab over to COMMS.

Thank you for the reply. I think having ATC freqs under nearest would be a great future feature. My old, old Garmin 250xl did that and it was quite useful. If someone desides to do a popup request for flight following out in the middle of nowhere, its back to charts.... Shame that Sky view can't do this since it kills the paper charts in almost every other way.

Both the Garmin 530 and 430 provides a suggested center frequency based on your position.. Seems like a list must exist.

Just because it's displayed on other systems doesn't mean that there hasn't been a lot of effort expended to make it searchable and packaged into clean lists. If it were trivial and fell out naturally from the way the data is packaged up that we have available, it would be in the product already. So this falls into the category of things that are possible but have to be weighed against all of the other improvements we want to make to SkyView.
