I’ve been using my Dynon Classic for 9 years with no problem. Last week I got a Warning Light for “Audio Output Fail”. The radio worrks, both transmit and receive. Just happened to have the Transponder tested and it works fine. Any ideas what this might be or how to troubleshoot?

It probably said "Audio Subsystem Fail", no?

I suspect that's the audio *from* the SV to whatever you're using as a comm panel or radio (e.g., audio inputs to something like a GMA-340 audio panel), so that you can hear the audible alerts from SV either through the headset or an external speaker.

That'd be my guess. Certainly nothing to do with the transponder, though.

You could go into the setup menus and test the audio alert sounds manually, for starters.

No. The warning is definitely “Audio Output Fail”.

Well, no such alert is listed in the User's Manual, but perhaps Dynon changed their alert messages without updating the manual. Be that as it may...

It's still probably related to the audio from SV. Certainly nothing to do with the transponder. Did you test it as suggested?

The manual

“Warning”
AUDIO SUBSYSTEM FAIL
SkyView has detected a problem with the audio system.

I absolutely will next time I’m out at the aeromachine. Thanks.
