Well? Did the ground really look bumpy like the first picture? Why does the second shot look so smooth compared to the first - both show below sea level altitude?

The altitude on the right is pressure altitude here at Dynon, from a real AHRS. The actual altitude for the image comes from GPS altitude, which was simulated at 700 meters for both shots. The FAA requires GPS altitude to be used for all SynVis applications since it's the datum the data was taken against.

The first picture is bumpy because the land there is very mountainous terrain. The second one is of the flat land leading out to the ocean. They are about 20 km apart from one another.
