Can someone tell me how to setup the display to control the level of auto dim.
My problem is when it is dark out the screen it to dim to see. I have to use the menu to increase the brightness.
The sensor shows that is is sensing from 0 - 100% based on the light level hitting it. I can't make sense of how the 0% - 25% - 75% numbers are supposed to work to control the minimum brightness.

Enter System Setup Menu (press and hold Buttons 7 + 8) and navigate to Local Display Setup > Brightness Setup (see attached). There you will find the screen brightness settings.

That is what I am doing but changing those numbers does not affect the minimum brightness as I would expect.
I have the same % values you show (default). The brightness is great during daytime but at night is is too dark.

Yes, I have played with minimum brightness. It seems to affect the transition point (local brightness sensor) that the display starts to brighten. It does not control the minimum brightness.

Is there a setup manual for this part of the Dynon?

Yes, on pages 4-38 & 4-39 of the Skyview System Installation guide.
There is a Dim Offset menu accessed by pressing the Display button (#7) from the Main Screen.

Yes, my message referenced vers. 16 of the Installation manual, the latest version released earlier this year. Click on the Installation Guides tab on the above link posted above by swatson999.
OK, got it. I will follow this guide and report back.

I finally got back to night flying and the brightness control, or lack of, is annoying. The local brightness sensor is reacting correctly and in the dark shows close to 0 but the screen is too dark to easily read. I have tried to adjust per the Dynon instructions. I would expect when I am in the setup menu I could change the 25% brightness sensor value + ACCEPT and and the screen would gradually increase in brightness. This makes no change until I set the 25% value to 1 number above the 100% value then the screen runs to full brightness, at the same time the brightness sensor increases to 100. Very confusing and I can't make any logic in cause and effect.
