I assume that there will be a firmware update.

With a D-100, will the A/P functions be able to be displayed on the 1/3 side of the split screen thus allowing the attitude indicator to be displayed continuously?

Yes, a firmware update plus servos will enable the autopilot function. The autopilot display and interaction will be overlaid on the standard EFIS screen, with the heading and altitude bugs acting as your A/P targets. With the AP74 and AP76, you get dedicated buttons and knobs; without those, the interaction is via the EFIS menus.
