Autopilot- CWS Request

I would like to see an option added in the autopilot menu to allow the autopilot to be immediately engaged in CWS mode to hold current heading (or track) when the control wheel Engage/Disengage button is held for 2 secs. Right now, you must first engage the autopilot in heading or track mode, either by holding the CWS button or selecting from the display menu, and then further hold down the CWS button to select CWS mode. Except on long cross countries, I usually hand fly my plane, only engaging the A/P when I drop something on the floor and need to retrieve it. I used to like the ability of my Trutrak to be quickly engaged to hold my current track when I suddenly needed my hands and attention free to concentrate on something else. Now I sometimes forget and use the same procedure with the Skyview only to look up and find myself turning to whatever the heading bug selection was on.

agree - there should be an easy way to quickly hold current heading and altitude... perhaps we are missing how to make this work? dynon?

I'm a long way from flying with my Skyview, but I do like this concept. For example, when you push the AP button on the "G" GFC-700, it comes on in Pitch and Roll modes. It holds your attitude so you can spend more time looking for traffic when departing an airport, etc. Very handy.

We already support this in SkyView. Make sure you have "SYNC" turned on in both the heading and alt modes. It will Sync to your current heading and alt when engaged and then hold them.

Ah! I must have missed this, I'll have to go thru the menu again. Thanks!
