Autopilot & servos breakers?

Hi Dynon. I ordered a few days ago a complete SkyView system from the italian distributor.

I am now applying decals on my breaker panel and was wondering:
- if autopilot "brain" will be the Display itself, thus not needing a separate power supply and breaker (I guess answer is yes);
- if servos will be fed by their own power, thus needing a separate switch/breaker (I guess answer is yes);
- if yes to the latter, if it is suggested to have two separate bks. or if it is just OK a single one for both servos.

Last question: do Dynon pins require special crimping tool (i.e.: Daniels) or it is OK just a normal "4-way indent crimper"?

Thanks.
Camillo

Hi Camillo,

Yes, the display will be the autopilot controller.
Yes, the servos need to be fed by their own power (i.e., not sourced from the SkyView Network)
Breaker selection is up to you, but we have no problem with you using one breaker for both servos.
A standard 4-way indent crimper is acceptable.

I will be running dual SV32 servos with the skyview, what size breaker should I use ?

Thank-you very much, Dynon.

Jamie, SV32 is 0.1 to 1.33 amp. max. (see autopilot install instructions sheet). Times two makes 2.66. As long as you will use a short enough wire (bkr is to protect wire: see AC.43.13), a 3 amp. breaker should be enough. But I will probably go with a 5 amp., since if you look at the bkr. chart (I use P&B/Tyco), you will see that each bkr. has its rating for a certain temperature and you may want a slight tolerance in hot summer days. And of course if you go with a 5 amp. bkr. you should select a wider section wire.
