Hello Gents

I'm planning to install elevator electric trim in my RV-4 and was wondering what is require to have autotrim with my Skyview ...do I need the autopilot control box or do I only need to connect the trim servo to my Skyview??

Thanks

Two options - the fully integrated "Dynon" solution is with the autopilot controller, but there is another box sold by "Makerplane" that is an aftermarket add-on that will also do the job, if you don't want to use the Dynon autopilot control panel (or your panel is already built without it).

You need to purchase and install the SV-AP-PANEL, and then connect up your trim control buttons and the trim control motors to it (the 15-pin connector on the back). SkyView's AP can then "auto-trim" when the AP is engaged. This is the only way that SkyView can control trim. You also need to do a brief calibration to "teach" the trim controller which motor direction moves the control surface in which direction.

To MONITOR trim position, you connect the trim position sensor (potentiometer) to a general purpose input on the SV-EMS-220/221.

Hi Airguy and Support

Thank you for the reply.

Support: That is what I thought but wasn't sure 100% and that is the way I'll will go.The problem now is to find room in my panel for the A/P-Panel and that is something lacking in an RV-4.

Thanks
