For those of us not using the SV[ch8208]HARNESS[ch8208]D37, where can we obtain the connector for the SV-BAT-320 connector to add to a "homemade" harness?  (Actually it's a professionally made harness from Approach Fast Stack).

The connector is a Molex 43640-0301, and the pins are 43031-0007. Sorry, but we can't supply these except as part of a harness.

Also, please be aware that this connection cannot go through other connectors. This connection is designed to be no more than 2' long with minimal resistance in the connectors. Wiring this through a bunch of other connectors will cause problems. It's fine if they make up a harness that comes right out of the SkyView and goes to the battery like the one we sell, but not OK if they go into one of their distribution boxes and then to the battery.

We also have the same issue with the USB cable that is on the harness, where it needs to be short and use the right kind of wires and connectors.

I mounted my backup battery on the front firewall, and will have to extend the wires in my Dynon harness further than what is provided. (maybe 2 foot extension) Is this not recommended? Should I relocate the battery?

Also; would it be okay to use a short (6") usb cable to adapt from the Dynon cable to a panel-mount receptacle?

Per the advice in the Homemade Wire Harness Considerations section in the latest (currently Rev F) SkyView Installation Guide, the maximum length for the connection to the battery is 24", which is approximately what is already provided on the harness. So essentially, the battery wires should not be extended beyond what is provided on the harness.

Short extensions of the USB cable are OK, up to the USB spec, which I think is 6' off the top of my head.

Why don't you just run a USB port extender from one of the two ports on the back of the screen to the instrument panel, rather than from the USB cable on the harness?  I assume that's okay to do.

Ya I guess I could do that too. Eliminates one connection.

I'm embarrased I missed the part in the manual about the battery harness and not extending etc. Relocating the battery tonight...
