Backup battery drained after EDC-10D installation

To solve major  problems with my EFIS D10A backup instrument, I recently installed a remote compass EDC-D10.
The compass problems disappeared but since then the backup battery seems to be losing power during shutdown. Before it stayed on +16 volts but now over a few days it drops to 13 volts.
Is this a coincidence, the battery is defect, or is there a problem in the power shutdown procedure.
Thanks
Bart

If you were using the EFIS-D10A without master power for any significant amount of time while you were installing the upgrade, then you may have just discharged the battery. It can take up to 10 hours of ship's power time to recharge the battery. If that's not the case, then, that may imply a battery issue.
