Backup Battery Failure ?

In recent weeks I have had some boot problems (hangups) when using the backup battery. The SV normally has no problem booting using ships power. Last week after turning off the bus power the "Powering Down in 30 Seconds" displayed for about 15 seconds then the SV shutdown. I re-booted on ships power and checked the battery status which indicated charged and attempted to run the SV on battery during shutdown. Once again after clearing the warning the SV shutdown after 10-15 seconds. Today after flying for 1 hour when I turned off the bus power the SV the unit shut down immediately as if there was no backup battery at all. I re-booted and rechecked the battery status and it indicated the battery is charged.
Any ideas? Thanks

What's the voltage that the battery is indicating in the setup menu?

I checked the battery status today:

It reported charged at 12.25 volts

When I shutoff the bus and ran on the battery I pulled up the screen and the battery voltage showed 11.45 and began going down. The last I saw was 11.2 before the SV shutdown. Total run time on the battery was about 90 seconds.

It sounds like something might be wrong with your backup battery. Give us a call to arrange an RMA to have it replaced.
