Battery Backup Test

Just trying to assist a friend do the back up test and finding when switching off the main power source and running the sceen on the Batt the batt test button remains greyed out and I cannot perform the test. I have completed this test on both my screens and two others without any issue so wondering if I have missed something. Any ideas welcome.

You are blocked from doing a battery test when the system thinks you are in flight. Is the system showing a non-zero airspeed, or is there a Garmin GPS in th plane that is on the test screen which outputs 150 knots?
