Battery current shunt

The installation manual implies that if the current shunt is connected directly to the battery, there will be a small current drain that may eventually discharge your battery. Anyone know roughly what the current drain is?

It's about 4Kohms. So at 12V, that's about 3mA.

If you have a 20AH battery, that's 275 days until "dead", which means you likely couldn't start the engine after ~6 months. We've had more issues with some very tiny batteries like 8AH batteries that can be dead after 60 days.

Note this is only on EMS-D10, D120, and D180 units. SkyView uses an improved design that does not have this issue.
