Can I connect D10A directly to KT76A transponder ?
If YES, what pins I should use (on K76A) to connect encoder output.
Thanks

The KLT76A requires "gray code" altitude input, and would need our encoder converter module that changes the EFIS's native serial output to the gray code your transponder requires. The encoder converter module costs $80 and can be ordered from our website or by calling us at 425-402-0433.

Following on to the previous enquiry, I am having the EFIS-D100 & EMS-D120 factory fitted by Flight Design (Germany) to my new CTSW. They are also installing a Becker BXP 6401-2-(01) Mode S transponder in the aircraft. Can you please advise whether I will also require the encoder converter so as to connect to the D100?

Many thanks.

The brochure for that transponder claims that it can accept serial altitude, which is what the EFIS-D100 outputs natively. However, it does not specify what data format it accepts. As described in the EFIS-D100 installation guide, there are 4 serial formats that the EFIS-D100 can speak. If the Becker unit can listen to one of them, then you would not need the encoder converter module. If the Becker is not compatible with any of those serial formats you would then need the encoder converter module.

Thanks for the prompt response!! (do you ever get any sleep?? :) ) Sounds like it may work without the encoder however will wait until the aircraft arrives and see how the factory have connected it up.

Thanks again.
