My blind encoder converter has two white wires (included in the bundle of 11 wires which are connected to the transponder, power & ground) rather than one white, and one white with green trace. How do I identify which white wire should have the green trace, and be connected to transponder code C1 ?

Regards,

Hmmph - if there truly are two white wires, it will be hard to figure that out. If you haven't installed it yet, give us a call at 425-402-0433 for a return authorization so we can sort that out for you.

Thanks for the prompt response. I have unbundled the wires, checked carefully, and found residual green trace close to the heat shrink on one white wire, as well as green numbering on both white wires.

After tagging, I discovered that I could remove the residual green trace by rubbing with my finger - no finger nail required. The green numbering, and the traces on the other wires, could not be removed by rubbing.

I believe I have resolved the ambiguity, and luckily, the need for a trans-Pacific shipping exercise.

What would be the consequences of swapping the connection of the white and white/green wires ?

Regards, and thanks again,

ATC will think you're at incorrect altitudes - and the way gray code is encoded, it'll be by variable amounts at different altitudes. No damage should have been done though.
