Blue screen camera input

My taxi camera now shows a blank blue screen. Before I begin tearing everything apart, i'd like some advice.. is the camera fried or is it the video adapter?

My guess is the camera because of heat.

The blue screen is what you'll get as valid output from the adapter when there isn't any input coming in. So that sounds like a working adapter.
