C25 Com radio powers down on engine start.

I have two COM 25s installed. One of them routinely shuts down during engine start. The other one does not suffer from this problem. Furthermore… After it shuts down I cannot restart it by holding the power button. The only way I can get it to restart is to completely cycle battery power availability to that radio.

I have two Skyview HDX, each with back up battery power. They suffer no power downs during engine start.

it is interesting that it is only one of the two radios that has this problem. It seems to be associated with a voltage drop during the engine start.

I do not have an avionics master.

Has anyone else experienced this?

How old are your com radios? We did a hardware mod on the control panel a while back to correct a power up issue.

Those control heads both likely need to come back for the mod. Contact us for a RMA for one or both.
