Carb temp failure

My carb temp is now displaying a red x. I have not done much trouble shooting yet but I would like to know the nature of the Dynon supplied Lycoming sensor. Is it a resistive, thermocouple or a semiconductor type? It measures 3.2 ohms @12 deg C.

The sensor is a thermistor.

It should read 18,000 ohms at 12C and 10,000 ohms at 25C. 3.2 ohms indicates a short that should not be there.
