Carb temp probe

The manual has instructions and a wiring diagram for a probe that requires one wire to ground, and the other(sense wire) goes to a GP input and requires a 5+ excitation input with a pull up resistor.

It then mentions "If you received a sensor with black/white wires, there will be no resistor
in the package and you do not need to make any additional connections."

I have the black/white wires. Does that mean I don't need the pullup resistor and I don't need the +5 excitation input? Just one to ground and the other to a GP input? :-/

Also my probe has one white wire, and one white/black wire, does it matter which wire goes where? :-?

If you have black/white wires, hook one to ground, one to the GP input. No connection to +5V needed. It does not matter which wire goes to ground and to the GP input.
