carb temp probe

I have a carb temp probe with the 2 black/white wires. One wire goes to ground, the other to GP3. My temp indication on my Flight Dek 180 show -45 at the top and 5 at the bottom of the scale. If I disconnect the wires from the probe, the indication doesn't change (guess it's not working). According to the installation instructions, you don't need to connect one of the wires to the +5V excitation through a resistor unless you have the two black wires. Mine has 2 white wires with a black stripe (black/white). Any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott

You say that it's connected to GP1, have you tried configuring GP2 and 3 individually to see if those recognize it? You could double check the wire color you have used, if you used a Dynon harness GP1 should be purple/blue.

Also, make sure all of the pins have been fully inserted into the connectors that go into the back of the instrument, I had a couple that were not all the way in and couldn't read the sensors they were connected to.

Check everything ratman mentioned, and if there's still no joy, measure the resistance between the two wires and report back the temperature you measured at and what the resistance is.
