Just hooked up the carb temp sensor to my EMS and was reading 175 degrees. Instructions called for 1K ohm resistor and 5.5 v circuit being hooked up, but I found a message on this forum that says this isn't used. I unhooked this wire and it dropped to 25 degrees. Temp should have been around 70. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ron,

Those instructions were for a customer that was using a GRT carb temp sensor with his EMS. The sensor we supply does require the 5V connection (through the included resistor) to work correctly.

Beyond that , 175 degrees sounds like there's either a short in the wiring, or perhaps that the resistor used was one of the other ones included with the EMS sensor pack.

My bad. You are right. I had the wrong resistor installed. Put the correct one in today and all is good. Thanks.
