I am confused. I am planning on fitting 2x screens in my homebuilt Sport Cruiser with Rotax 912.
From your website it shows the EFIS 100 being able to provide splitscreen viewing. The same goes for the D180. What is the difference between the 2 and what should I install eg. 2 x 180, 2 x 100, 1 x 180 and 1 x 100 and why should I install in this way - advantages/disadvantages ??
Do I Install 2x magnetometer as well??

My thinking is, I want to see the full size engine page during start-up, then cut back to 1/3 screen during taxi, run-up and take-off and in flight have the full size engine page on the right and the full size Efis on the left screen. How is this best achieved?

Next question, can the unit be switched on prior engine start to monitor engine instruments on start-up?

The EFIS-D100 is an EFIS only. It can display engine monitor data if you also have an engine monitor in the plane, but not if all you have is a D100.

The D180 is an engine monitor and an EFIS in one box. It can display EFIS and engine monitor data all on its own.

If you want two screens, you have two options:

EFIS-D100 and FlightDEK-D180- This will give you redundant EFIS displays, so if one fails, you still have EFIS data. You can't install two D180's unless you install two seperate sets of probes on the engine, so nobody realy does this. You will loose your engine data if the D180 fails. This does require two magnetometers to be installed, but they are included in the price.

EFIS-D100 and EMS-D120: This will let you show whatever you want on either screen, but if one unit fails, you can't see the data that unit provides. If you don't need redundant EFIS data, this is your lest expensive option. This install only uses one magenetometer.

All of our equipment can be turned on before the engine is started and left on during engine start. The magnetometers do not interfere with one another so they can be installed in the same location.
