Combined EMS and EFIS audio outputs

I have been reviewing the installation manuals and have a question:

Both the EMS and EFIS have annunciated audio outputs, which are supplied through a certain terminal in each harness (EMS and EFIS harness).

Do both these terminals need to be connected to seperate input terminal on my radio/intercom unit, or can they be:
Networked together (via EMS to EFIS network) so only one needs to be wired in?
Wired in parallel to the same input terminal on my COM unit?

This is from the D180 manual, but the same goes for your D100/D120 combo: "The FlightDEK-D180 has two audio alarm outputs: one for sounding EMS-related alarms, and one for sounding AOA and altitude alarms sourced from the EFIS. If you plan to use both alarm outputs, connect these outputs (whose pin numbers are shown in the tables at right) together and then to the outside terminal of a 10 k[ch937] variable resistor (not included) as shown below. If you only plan to use one of the audio alarm outputs, connect only its wire to the variable resistor."

Thanks, in this case - what happens if two alarms sound at once? Do you hear both superimposed on each other, or do the signals interact in some other way?

You should hear them superimposed on each other. One thing to note is that the EMS side sounds all of the EMS alarms, while the EFIS side does AOA and altitude alarms. They're all beeps and borps without the HS34, and they're at different frequencies, so you wouldn't typcially confuse one for another.
