For clearification - when connecting the GNS-430 rs232 serial outputs to the ARINC-429 and to the XPNDR-261should both ports on the GNS-430 be set to ADS B? It is unclear if the ARINC-429 output should be set to AVIATION or ADS-B

See Page 12-6 in the SkyView System Installation Guide, Rev Q:
“Main RS232 Config” Page
Chan X (where X is the physically connected port) Output: Aviation

and continues...

Optional (ADS-B)
If Dynon’s SV-XPNDR-261 is being used for ADS-B Out capability: Another 430/530 serial output should be set to “Garmin ADS-B” format. That serial port should be connected to the SVXPNDR-261’s pin 3 through a 1.21k resistor as described in the transponder installation section of this manual. Finally, set SETUP > TRANSPONDER SETUP > GPS DATA to DIRECT (GARMIN ADSB).
