In the process of adding a Garmin GNS400W,  I have developed some problems.  I’m hoping it is just settings, because the wiring seems correct.  During the programming,  we seem to have lost the settings, and the NAV1 (SL30) is no longer operating the Skyview.  The Garmin 400W activates the Skyview HSI,  but the flight plan line is not shown.   The Transponder is not working ,  and I seem to be unable to download Skyview updates (the error message is “can’t read file” or similar.) Lastly, the Skyview no longer turns off when the master is turned off.  Ugh!! suggested settings for the Skyview and each of these commonly used devices?  Many thanks!!!
We have the following:
Skyview 10”  with SV-GPS-250  antenna.
Garmin 400W  (GPS1)
SL-30 Nav/com.  (NAV 1)
SL-40 Com
Garmin 327 transponder
SV-ARINC-429
SV-NET-HUB
SV-EMS-220 engine module
Dynon Autopilot servos
Dynon  backup battery

So overall, it sounds like your serial port settings might have been changed from what they were (they needn't have changed at all with the addition of the 400W, since it communicates via the ARINC-429 adapter). That could possibly explain the issues with your SL30 and the transponder.

Knowing the exact error message that you're seeing when you try to update would be helpful, but you might try a different USB memrory stick and/or redownloading the update from our website and copying it over again fresh. If the file was only partially on your computer or the USB stick was full or is corrupt you can get different variants of the behavior you're describing here.

I think you might get straightened out quickest if we can help you through these issues more personally. Can you give our support team a call at 425-402-0433 when you get a chance?
