Dave:
Feel free to give Dynon Avionics Sales a call at 425-402-0433 for more detail, but here are the basics.
SkyView does not interoperate with the FlightDEK-D180, so the units can't "talk".
You can keep the FlightDEK-D180 in your panel as a backup PFD if you wish, with the engine monitoring side not connected; the FlightDEK-D180 can display full-screen EFIS.
A minimum equivalent to a FlightDEK-D180 in a SkyView system (the minimum) is a SV-D700 (7" display), SV-ADAHRS-200 (flight sensor module) and SV-EMS-200 (engine sensor module). Of course there are cables required to connect all of this. We recommend an SV-GPS-250 (at least one source of GPS is required in SkyView) and an SV-BAT-320 backup battery. There are MANY options beyond just these basics.
Or, you can keep the FlightDEK-D180 as a backup PFD and engine monitor, and omit the SV-EMS-220 from the SkyView.
You can't have both the FlightDEK-D180 and the SkyView SV-EMS-220 connected at the same time to monitor engine - the engine sensors can only be connected to one EMS or the other.
To convert the engine monitoring from the FlightDEK-D180 to SkyView is largely (but not totally) plug and play - unplug the two engine sensor connectors from the back of the FlightDEK-D180 to the SV-EMS-220 and the rest is button pushing on the SkyView display. We have a manual (
link) that explains the wiring changes of the conversion.
I may purchase an airplane with a D180. I want to install a SV1000. What would I need to replace it? But what if I wanted to keep it and use it primarily for the engine and back up for the SV?
Dynon, you can email me if this answer takes to long. Or tell me where to call for the answer.

Thanks
