I just finished to install the EMS on my Dyn'Aero MCR 01 VLA with a Rotax 912 (called Lafayette Sportster in USA), but during the engine test, I noticed a crazy RPM.
It seems to be ok till 3500 RPM, but just above it goes suuddenly to very high RPM, like 8000 RPM. In fact, the engine is running normaly, but the SkyView indication is wrong.

I searched several days what I made wrong, without success.

Do you have any idea?

Re: Crazy RPM

I'd try adding a 30K oHm resistor in series to the RPM signal wire, see how that goes as it can't 'hurt' but you may have to increase this value, up to 100K in 10K increments, to stabilise the RPM.

Ok, it won't hurt... I will try that. Thank you Jake. I will keep you advised... ;)

Re: Crazy RPM

The resistor isn't typically needed on a 912, but it's standard procedure on a magnegoed setup. In short, it won't hurt things, as the previous poster suggested.
