I have the SV-1000, arinc 429, gps 250 etc.
on the pfd, navsrc set to gps1 (430w) and the 430w set to obs mode.  there is no other nav indicator such as a GI106.

If I set the obs on the SV, the OBS on the SV will start wandering.  For instance set to 270, it will change position aprox 1 degree / second and not stay at 270.  The obs mode is nice to set in a runway centerline when you are not doing a precision approach, or a flight plan that does not include a final fix.

The PFD obs works properly in the 430 vloc mode with navsrc set to Nav1.

In a related matter, is there work being done to have a obs mode for vectors to final in the SV-map-270 or am I just missing something?

What does the 430 think its GPS course is while that wandering is happening (this is on some of the 430's pages)? Can you take a video of this behavior that includes the 430's GPS couse display (both numerically and what the map course overlay is doing)?

I will try to get some pictures. On another day subsequent to the post, it worked as advertised. If it re-occurrs I will get more data.
