Hi
Hope I'm posting this correctly....first time doing this.

I'm installing the SV system in my Smithcub. The best location for the Adahrs seems to be just aft of the extended baggage compartment but this location gives a 5-6 degree compass deflection. There should be no dynamic magnetic fields nearby. Question is: can 5-6 degrees be calibrated out?
I'd appreciate any help from Dynon or anyone else.
thanks
O.

Any location that provides an obvious deflection isn't ideal, but the answer is still "maybe". It's really hard to advise how bad any magnetic interference really is. Our advice would be to simply give it a try and see how it goes.

Have you considered installing in the wing? I am working a Texas Sport Cub and plan to put the ADHAR in the first wing bay outside the wing fuel tank. Totally surrounded by aluminum structure with good seperation from the fuselage tubing, and well within the location envelop in the SV installation manual.
