With our Skyview (no backup battery installed) amps used to read negative a couple of amps when engine not running and a decent positive charge when running which reduced predictably during a flight as the battery was topped up - it was all good. Yesterday it was showing a really high reading (85 !) which then settled (after cleaning some oil that was on the 2 fuse-holders) at 4 amps without engine running, it reduced as items were switched on but on the whole seems + a few amps i.e. optimistically reading an positively offset amount of maybe 10 amps. I am not aware of any further calibration being required or possible for the standard shunt - it worked nicely but seems to have gone a bit out over the last couple of weeks. Any suggestions ? I think I will order a spare as it's so quick to install but it would be useful to know if there is a reason for the shift.
