Cut remote compass wires to get through bulkhead?

The remote compass wires will unhook from the remote compass, but the D-sub connector attached to the wires is too large to pass through my current bulkhead cutouts. Can I cut the D-sub connector off of the wires and reassemble? If so, is there a diagram of what and where each wire is reconnected? Is this a recommended solution?

The harness we sell has the D9 pins on the cable, but not yet installed in the connector for this very reason. Did you get your harness from someone else or get it a long time ago?

I don't know what product you have, but on the D10A install guide, all the EDC cable wiring is on page 3-2 of the install manual.

I have the D100 and the wiring harness I bought from aircraft spruce a couple of years ago. I have been flying with the remote compass routed to the aft end of the plane, but not through the bulkheads. I guess I have forgotten that the D-sub housing comes apart. Thanks for the reminder.
