Is there any chance the option for a separate CWS button on the yoke could be added to the feature set? The STC does not allow this (on the single disconnect button) but it would be great to include this feature to better match other autopilots.
It should allow a temporary override of the servos, and sync the pitch, ALT, VS, speed (depending on what mode you are currently in) with whatever you are at when the button is released.
This would match standard functionality and reduce workload by allowing the pilot to just hand-fly the plane to the state they want it and release the button to make the autopilot hold that state.
There are several “unused” inputs on the SV that could allow another push button, so this would be a software change.
Not sure how it would impact the certification.
