CWS Hold Heading & Altitude

In the Autopilot setup menu, CWS can be set to "Hold Heading / Altitude". When holding the disengage button for more than 2 seconds, the autopilot is then supposed to hold the current heading and altitude when the button is released.

I tested this today and it appears that this only is the case if the SYNC mode is activated in the AP menu. If SYNC is not active, the autopilot engages on the heading and altitude of the respective bugs.

Can Dynon confirm whether this is how it's supposed to work?

that is how mine is working as well... i would like to have a quick way to engage a hold heading and altitude without navigating the menus or fussing with settings.

I agree, one button push CWS should be available as a default mode that is remembered after power down. I've only got a couple flights with this so I may be mistaken, but Sync mode doesn't seem to be remembered after power-down of the Skyview, so at the next restart, you have to go thru the menus and reselect Sync again.

It looks like SYNC isn't currently preserved across boots. Looking into whether that's by design or whether we should change it.

Also, it looks like the CWS modes do work, BUT, it looks like no matter which mode you have it in, every 2-3 seconds, while disconnnect is being held, there's a virtual "pulse" of the disconnect switch. This causes CWS mode to exit, the AP to really disconnect, and then IF you have hold to engage set to YES, that mode takes over. Can any of you see if you see that on your installations? While you have CWS active AFTER an engage, watch the top bar for a flash that lasts just a second as the AP fully disconnects and then goes into hold to engage mode.

Was this issue resolved? I believe I may have this happening.

Yes, 3.2.
Is the CWS meant remain lit even when I release the button? Right now I engage the AP via CWS get a heading and altitude I want; release the CWS button but the CWS remains lit? I can disengage/reengage the AP via the CWS button and the AP works but the CWS remains on, so regardless of if I press and release the button the CWS stays on all the time.. should it not go off when I release the CWS button? or is this normal?
I even manually shut off the AP and the CWS stays on the top of the screen.
Thx

For what it's worth, I see the yellow AP lite come on momentarily while engaging CWS after an initial engage, but then after releasing the Hold to Engage button, the AP goes into the mode choice I selected for the Hold To Engage feature: i.e., either "hold heading and altitude", or "last heading and altitude". In other words, in my installation I think the Hold to Engage/CWS function works as advertised with no problem. ;D
Thanks...Jack L.

Mine does the same thing, except It does it when I press the button versus hold it for 2 seconds. I think Jake and Stephen are on to somehting with the ground and being stuck closed. I'll test the connections and see if I can locate the issue.
Thanks all!
