I installed the Autopilot panel on my dual Skyview System running 10.0. Today I checked the panel in the air. Mode switching is all ok, however when I push and hold the CWS button while HDG & VS is activ and release the button after a few seconds the system doesn´t remember the VS setting, instead it takes over the value the moment I release the CWS button. HDG is working fine.
Have others experienced similar behavior? I assume the set VS value should be kept active too !?

"Control Wheel Steering" means just that- you steer the plane with the yoke/stick and then when you release, the plane maintains that. The point of it is not a temporary override where it goes back to the old setting when you release.

So it's doing exactly what is intended.

If you want to turn the AP off temporarily, and have it come back on in the same mode, press the AP button on the control panel. This will leave the FD on, and you can hand fly the plane. Press AP again and it will go right back to what it was doing.

Ok, understand that.
Before, when holding CWS during cruise in NAV or GPS and ALT mode it always corrected the course deviation and continued in ALT mode. May be I didn´t deviate too much when handflying. Never tried it before with VS.
