The static is going to be hard to solve if the radio is not able to suppress the noise from the D-1's power supply.

On the flicker - do you mean the D1's display seems to flicker? Does the brightness setting make a difference (use the rocker on the right side of the D1 to adjust the brighness.

So it is the Radio at fault not the D1 ? Neither of my other 2 GPS's cause interference

The D1/D2's DC power supply adapter complies with all required specifications.

Dynon Avionics Technical Support has heard from a few customers that their COM radios receive interference apparently generated by the D1/D2's DC power supply adapter. There is no "fix" available for the D1/D2's DC power supply adapter.

In such cases, Dynon Avionics Technical Support has recommended powering the D1 via the USB port, using a DC-to-USB power adapter. That seems to clear up the radio noise issue.
