I'm in the habit of starting the engine before powering the D-100, and then turning the power off before shutdown.

Probably due to my initial training of "minimum stuff on, engine start, alternator on, avionics and lights"

Any guidance on starting with the D-100 powered?

Thanks!

It's built to withstand any (well, assuming you don't have an electrical system that's badly misbehaving) starting voltage, so you can have it on before and/or during engine start. If you don't have the backup battery installed, it may restart if bus voltage falls too far below 10V during engine crank.
