Hi all,
I have a FlightDek D-180 in my RV-4, and I can't figure out how to display the percent power setting. The display shows %LOP or %ROP and I want to change it. Can someone explain how to configure that?

Do you have all of the following connected:

RPM
MAP
Fuel Flow
OAT

If you do, then all you need to do is tell the system that you have a Lycoming engine and the horsepower and it should display.

I do have RPM,MAP,Fuel Flow,& OAT, and I have set the engine parameters up in the system, but still no joy. It displays a percentage, but it seems too low to be the power setting.
Is that percentage that is displayed supposed to be % power? It seems as if it is %ROP or %LOP.

Those numbers are percent power.

Our tables are taken directly from the Lycoming tables, and they have worked well on thousands of airplanes.

Remember, this is % of sea level horsepower. If you're up at 8K feet, it's impossible to get more than about 75% power.

If you really wonder, post your altitude, manifold pressure, and RPM and I can tell you what the Lycoming table says your power would be and you can compare to what the EFIS was saying.

And remember that on the RICH side of peak your % power is determined by the combination of MAP and RPM, and a result from the power tables.

Once you are on the LEAN side of peak, the power is simply fuel flow in US GPH x 14.9 = HP

Hope this helps.
