Hello Support

Looking at buying a used D1 from someone and I'm told that his D1 is unable to locate the satellites unless it is hooked up to the external antenna. It can't connect on the internal antenna only.

So does this behaviour hiding a potential problem or is it a normal behavior for a D1?

Also does the battery needs to be replaced at specific interval on a D1?

Thanks

Definitely not true for most people. The external antenna is there for people who mount the D1 low in a panel, around other noisy radios/electronics with the included pinch mount. Even in that case, most people find they don't need the external antenna. But we include it just the same for maximum flexibility.

The D1 battery is a li-ion battery like your cell phone has. It's not user-serviceable but should last for years and hundreds of charge cycles.
