D10 - PC Connection Help

I have just installed an AP74 with a D10 and as both units were installed at different times I decided to check the firmware versions. I connected my laptop via usb/serial converter, switched on the D10 & Ap74 and ran the 5.4.3 program on the PC. When the software finds the appropriate comm port, the D10 screen turns yellow with don't power off message but nothing else happens. Both the PC and the D10 just hang with no apparent info flow.

Any advise???

That sounds like the D10A TX -> PC receive wire doesn't have continuity. Effectively, the PC is able to say "get ready to load or check your version!" but the D10A isn't able to respond. Unfortunately, this leaves you in the state that you're in.

Also, assuming you're using the USB-serial converter we supply, make sure you're using the drivers off our site (and for the right version of Windows), not the ones that came on the disc.
