We are just starting our electrical drawings for a D100 / D180 / HS34 / AP76 with two servos and a GNS530W.

What I would like to know is when will the details be available for the pinouts and so on for the autopilot functions.

Also I was under the impression current spec (as indelivered this last month) units will be AP capable, however I am now a bit concerned they are not.

Some positive news would be nice but any advice given is appreciated.

Regards
David

Dynon support gave this answer in the "Prewiring for the Dynon AP" thread.

What you need is 5 wires:

1) +12V, at 2amps. You'll need to size this wire for your run length.

2) Ground, at 2amps. You'll need to size this wire for your run length. You can ground this locally to the airframe if you wish.

3 & 4) DSAB A & B. These can be as small as you want.

5) Disconnect. This can be as small as you want.

No special wiring needed. They can be run in a bundle.

Please note that the 2A load is for a 30in/lb servo, which I know will be used in the 6 for both servos. Other planes may need a 40 or 50 in/lb servo and thus may draw up to 3A.
Hope this helps.

Every one of our EFIS units delivered since July of 2004 is capable of the AP. All they need is a software update. The hardware we use to talk to the AP servos and AP control panels has been in every unit since the D10A.

We are deep in beta testing, which is going well. We do still hope to ship by the end of this summer. "Ship" in this case means shipping servos and releasing a software update. The EFIS units do not change at all.
