I just received the two units D100 and D180. Each of them is delivered with a remote compass PN 100323-000.
Do I need to install the two remote compasses or only one ? I would have a whole redundant installation
Thanks to let me know

Right now, you need to install both if you want heading on both the D100 and D180.

Our next software release will let you share one, but if you lose that EDC or the instrument it's connected to, the other one will not have any heading info (or an HSI).

Since you already have both, we suggest you install both so you have redundancy. They can be placed on top of one another if needed.

Interesting. I only got one remote compass, and since the two units are hooked together, I can display info interchangeably. However, like you said, were I to lose the remote compass or the unit, I'd be SOL. Was I supposed to get another remote compass?

Unless you are running beta software, you cannot share compass data between a D100 and a D180. If you see the compass on the EFIS portion of both the D180 and the D100, you must have dual remote compasses.

Also, unless you specifically asked for it, yes, you should get one compass for each D100 or D180 ordered. The compass is included in the price.
