The problem is the D10A does not "see" the EDC. I was able to successfully update the D10A to V. 2.19 of the software, no help. Tried shutting everything down after the software update, restarting, no help. I triple checked the pin-outs on both the D10A and the EDC, all pins are in the correct holes. I checked the continuity of the 4 pins which connect the D10a and the EDC, good continuity. D10A also does not "see" the OAT gauge. Little help?

Mike

Mike,

Do you get an EDC version when you do "detect firmware version" from the support program on your PC? If you haven't tried, try it a few times and let us know.

Also, does it appear to be never found on your EFIS, or does it show up sometimes for brief moments? Brief displays of the heading can be an indication of mismatched software versions.

It's expected not to see the OAT unless the EDC is working, so that's not really an issue right now.

One final check- do you have an EDC-D10A? The original EDC-D10 is not compatible with the EFIS-D10A, so your EDC needs to match your EFIS as well.

If it really isn't working, you're not getting the version in the support program, and you're sure you've got all the wiring right, then it will need to come back. We will say that it feels like 80-90% of the time we get something back like this that it works just fine here, so do double check everything. Are you sure you're not looking at the connector backwards when you put the pins in the D9?

If you need to send it back, you'll need to write us or call us to get an RMA number. Sorry for the troubles.

Ah so, Grasshopper (you have to be old like me to understand that one). It's an EDC-10, not a -10A. Hmmm, I thought I bought them at the same time, but maybe not. Anyway, thanks, I'll call for the RMA.

Regards,
Mike
