Hi.

I'd like to install a D10A without connection to a pitot or other pressure sensor.
Speed will be supplied by a GPS.

What should I do with the pressure attachments on the backside of the unit? Leave them covered with the covers that were on? Open them to the cockpit ambient air pressure? Just open the static pressure?

Please advise.

Thank you,
Volker.

Re: D10A EFIS without connection to pressure senso

Even though GPS is usable as a backup, the pitot/static connections are considered required connections for best attitude performance. We do not recommend or support using an EFIS-D10A without pitot/static connection. The red plugs you have should be vented unless the unit is really old. For people that are not using AOA or are venting static to cabin, we generally recommend leaving the vented plugs in place for debris protection. Drill a small hold down the center of the plug (not while it's in the unit) if they're not vented.
