I notice that my altitude verbal limit alerts are not +-200 feet from target. The low alert comes on about 290 feet below target (bug) and the high alert comes on about 110 above. I think the 500 ft approach to target alert is right on. What can I do to adjust the limits. I like to use the low limit to help alert at minimums on IFR approaches, but I'm cautious. I'd like to know that whatever the spread is is either adjustable or not, and if not, that it will reliably stay where it is. Thanks...Jack L

The alerts are not adjustable, but we haven't heard of any issues with the alert going off at the wrong time. You can adjust the baro on the ground to fake an altitude change if you want to experiment. Note that you should hear a level off alert as you pass the +/-500 of your intended altitude. Then, once within 150 feet (which arms the altitude alerter), you'll get the altitude alert when you break 200 feet difference from the bugged altitude. Check out the Pilot User Guide for your product for a full description.

Well, I'm the first one then. I have tested the thing in the hangar according to the handbook and get the results I described. I take it there's nothing I can do to get the +-200ft alert to announce there instead of -290 +110 from the bug setting.

PLease disregard my previous blather. I was able to get the thing to respond as advertised in the hangar today, so I'm taking credit for the problem for the time being. Have no idea what I was doing wrong, but all seems well now...Thanks for replying. I'll let you know if I continue to see the problem in the air...Jack L
