D10A to GTX327

I'm debugging a new installing in my ship. ATC says they are not receiving my mode C information , just receive a Transponder Reply.

I guess I'm not getting my EFIS set up correctly to communication with my Garmin GTX327 transponder over the serial input wires.  What Format do I need to set my D10A to so that the transponder will receive the BAR correctly?  Also, there are multiple input option settings on the GTX327 to tell it what format it is being fed, so what setting do I chose on the GTX327?

Also, I have a Dynon blind encoder and split the serial output information  from the D10A to feed both the transponder and the encoder. The gray Code from the Encoder feeds my Electronics Internation Super Clock. Presently, the "format" is set to "Format 1"  and the SuperClock seems to recognise the input from the encoder.  If something other than Format 1 is chosen as the output format from the D10A, will it continue to drive the encoder to put out the gray scale to my SuperClock?
Thanks, Marty

The 327 and the Dynon converter require different protocols... Format one for the converter, format four for the 327.  You won't be able to have both....You can however feed your 327 with the gray code from the converter.

Darn, that's bad news if I have to rewire the encoder to feed the Transponder, maybe in the short term I'll just use the protocol #4 to the transponder. That said, what do I need to set the 327 format to on the serial data input line, there are several choices? Anyone know, surely other's have wired their equipment this way.

Thanks, I'll try setting my D10A to format 4 and the Transponder to Icarus and report back.

Well, putting the EFIS on format #4 worked, but obviously now my encode converter doesn't.  I will have to re-wire the transponder to accept the gray code from the encoder for everything to work as intended.
