I have a D120 in my 7a. I had noticed in the past that the timer would reset by itself in flight but I did not notice the screen going blank. I checked all my wiring and all seemed fine. Yesterday on my way back from Santa Rosa, I had repeated shutting off and restarting of the 120. It would be off for a second or two and come back on. The aircraft had been sitting on a 90 degree ramp for 2 hours. There is a cooling fan. The tip up was ajar and there was a cover over the canopy.
Today flew to Auburn. Earlier start. Cooler temps but still 90 went I got back to Livermore. No issues.
Early into yesterdays flight en route to Santa Rosa, there were fine horizontal lines flickering across the 120.
Suggestions, please!

Heat may be a contributing factor, but the EMS-D120 shouldn't be switching on and off by itself, unless it's losing power (which is more common than you'd imagine, over time, connectors and pins can work loose, corrosion can occur in connectors, etc.).

The fine horizontal lines are a separate issue that will require repair.

At your convenience, please contact our Technical Support group - call 425-402-0433 or email support AT dynonavionics DOT com to set up a Return Material Authorization (RMA). Mention both issues to them.
